- Butler Area Rural Transit (BART) operates six days a week utilizing 17 wheel chair accessible buses and provides on average 275-300 trips per day.

Transportation Services for Westmoreland County
- Area Agency on Aging (AAA): (724) 830-4444
- Priority Transportation Available for Westmoreland County residents 65 years of age and older to medical appointments, AAA Senior Centers and Adult Day Care, Senior Center shopping trips and the Vision Center. Riders pay 5% of the fare. Contact the Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging to request a “transportation card.” Rides must be reserved one day in advance with the taxi company. Applicants must also register with their taxi company.

- Must also sign up with transit authority and they cover 85% to go to all other places (non-medical appointments)
- There is also an escort form at transit authority (with MD signature) the rider is able to take someone with them for free

- Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP):
- Eligibility: Westmoreland County residents with a valid Medical Assistance card.
- MATP is coordinated by Westmoreland Transit and funded by the PA Department of Public Welfare.
- Transportation is free to medical appointments, the pharmacy, and other MA-billable service destinations.
- (ADA) Complementary Paratransit Program:
- The ADA Complementary Paratransit Program provides transportation for individuals whose disability prevents them from using a public bus.
- The service is provided by taxi and “mirrors” the public bus service.
- It is available during the same hours and to the same destinations that are available through the public bus service.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Program: 1-(800) 242-2706
- For disabled residents age 18-64 in areas with no local bus service
- ADA and PwD provide a taxi or wheelchair accessible van.
